The Accounts Payable Manager will oversee our accounts payable operations and lead our AP team. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day AP activities, ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, and implement improvements to enhance departmental efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise the accounts payable team, ensuring high-quality and timely completion of tasks.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with field and corporate employees, as well as external vendors.
  • Review, document, and enhance departmental processes and procedures for greater efficiency.
  • Schedule, prepare, and issue vendor payments, including checks and electronic transfers.
  • Assist with the preparation and review of check runs and resolve any issues related to contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
  • Assist in the month-end closing process for accounts payable and support various year-end projects, including 1099 reporting.
  • Provide support for annual audits and other financial reviews.
  • Reconcile monthly statements and resolve outstanding balances on vendor accounts.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve invoice and payment inquiries promptly.
  • Conduct teams’ annual performance reviews and consistently evaluate and provide feedback on employee performance.
  • Ensure employees adhere to timekeeping procedures.
  • Additional projects and duties to support departmental goals.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive full-cycle accounts payable experience with a strong understanding of AP processes and procedures.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience is required.
  • Proven ability to manage a high volume of invoices and expense reports while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience with accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, or AvidXchange is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to take ownership of the accounts payable function and drive departmental improvements.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
