The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Parts & Property Clerk.
This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with an hourly range of $21.89 - $27.36. The position is part of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) collective bargaining agreement. The individual in this position will work in the Utilities Building located at 1900 2nd Ave N, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.

JOB SUMMARY:
This is a skilled technical and clerical position with a focus on ordering, receiving, keeping computer records and inventory accounting of the Utilities Warehouse and Power Plant spare parts. This job involves moderately heavy labor. General supervision and instruction are received from the Materials Management Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process requests from all departments regarding material issues, returns, purchases and shipments
- Record all material-related transactions within the computerized inventory management system
- Monitor open Purchase Orders to proactively identify material that will need to be expedited and/or
- alternately sourced
- Conduct inventory cycle counts on a regular basis
- Create, review and award Requests for Quotes based upon inventory needs
- Coordinate onsite and offsite material deliveries
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, trucks and other material handling equipment
- Receive, inspect, issue, transport and accept return of materials

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of methods, materials, tools and equipment used in Utility construction
- General knowledge of purchasing, supply chain, materials management and material handling
- Processes.
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with interdepartmental personnel and external vendors.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload.
- Thorough knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Depending on functional area of assignment, tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort usually involving some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light to moderate lifting (up to 50 pounds).
- Requires the physical capacity of working for extended periods of time with exposure to diverse environmental situations and adverse weather conditions.
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
In performing the daily duties of this job, the employee is expected to supervise and inspect work activities in non-air conditioned indoor and outdoor warehouse areas as well as outdoor job-site material storage and staging areas.
- Exposure to moving mechanical equipment such as forklifts, trucks, cranes, warehouse equipment, etc. is routine. The noise level in the environment is usually moderate.
- Tasks are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Graduation from a high school or possession of a GED
- Must possess, and maintain, a valid State of Florida Driver’s License
- At least one (1) year relevant experience in materials management, materials coordination and/or Electric Utility
- Forklift experience/license is preferred
All full-time employees are considered critical in response to emergency situations and may be deemed essential as needed depending on the situation.
Employees in this position will be required to complete the FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) Certification Levels 100, 200, 700 and 800 within the first six months of employment. Certain positions may be required to attain additional ICS training as needed.
