The City of Lake Worth Beach invites qualified individuals to apply for the position of Traffic Maintenance Technician.

This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt position based on a 40-hour work week with an hourly pay rate TBD. This position is part of the Public Employees Union (PEU) collective bargaining agreement and the individual in this position will work out of the Public Services Building located at 1749 3rd Avenue South, Lake Worth Beach, FL 33460.

Pay Rate: $18.41-$23.39

SUMMARY:

Semi-skilled in operations of routing traffic control maintenance and servicing of a variety of medium and light pieces of equipment used in the Traffic Division. This includes pavement, sidewalk, curb repair, signage and striping for the traffic division.

Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) setup, takedown, and maintenance

Maintenance, installation and removal of roadway signage

Maintenance, installation and removal of roadway striping

Roadway pavement and base repairs

Concrete sidewalk, driveway, and curbing construction and demolition

Alleyway grading and associated work

Miscellaneous roadway work as applicable

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates all types of equipment used in traffic control

Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Must be able to interpret written and oral instructions

Ability to perform with accuracy, tape measure and mathematical calculations when laying out stop bars, cross walls and ADA disabled parking spaces.

Must be able to work in various weather conditions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED with six months experience in traffic maintenance related work is highly desired

CERTIFICATIONS:

Must possess valid Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (CDL Class B recommended)
