- Essential Job Requirements
- Perform injury/illness assessment and interventions for all students.
- Administer all prescribed medications to students, maintain authorization form for each and maintain a medication log.
- Collect and maintain on file a signed, notarized medical release form on each enrolled student, with up to date emergency information.
- Supply teachers with notarized medical release form and first aid kits for school field trips.
- Order all supplies and materials for the clinic.
- Abide by all rules of the Health Department.
- Observe OSHA rules on blood borne pathogens. Maintain a copy of Universal Precautions/Blood borne Pathogens Exposure Control Plan and revise yearly as needed.
- Coordinate volunteers to assist in the clinic.
- Arrange in-service for teachers on First-Aid, CPR, and blood borne pathogens.
- Make arrangements for and assist with scoliosis screening of all sixth grade students. Follow up with any communication to parents regarding test results.
- Make arrangements for and assist with vision and hearing screenings. Follow up with any communication to parents regarding test results.
- Make recommendations to the administration regarding the areas of health.
- Coordinate accident reports, making sure they are completely filled out.
- Communicate to parents regarding the degree of injury to the student. Make follow-up phone calls and assist with transition back into school.
- Evaluate student’s readiness to return to school along with proper paper work from parent or physician after illness.
- Promote health education and well-being in the classrooms.
- Coordinate available medical programs available to students, faculty/staff when available, i.e.: Flu mist, Open Airway, Vision Screenings, etc…
- Keep records on any exposure incident.
Qualifications - Spiritual
- Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior

- Must be able to demonstrate active membership and involvement in a local church.
Education and Experience - Registered and currently licensed to practice in Florida. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. One (1) year as a school nurse experience desired.
Physical Limitations - Able to walk and work standing on feet up to 75% of each shift.
- Must have high level of mobility necessary to assist patient’s needs. Able to lift up to 50 pounds
