Position Overview
The Middle School Entrepreneurship & Finance Teacher fosters creativity, critical thinking, and business acumen in students. This individual creates an engaging, student-centered classroom that integrates a biblical worldview while equipping students with practical entrepreneurial and financial literacy skills. This role includes building and developing a vertically aligned 6th–8th grade Entrepreneurship and Personal Finance program, including curriculum design, scope and sequence development, and experiential learning partnerships.
General Responsibilities
Establish and maintain a positive, Christ-centered classroom environment that supports students’ spiritual, academic, social, and emotional growth.
Teach Introduction to Entrepreneurship and Personal Finance courses. Course load may include additional electives offerings such as Home Economics & Hospitality, Speech, Bible, or Independent Study.
Design and implement a standards-aligned, hands-on curriculum emphasizing project- and problem-based learning.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs.
Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
Integrate technology effectively to enhance learning and innovation.
Maintain course maps (Atlas), records, and classroom inventory.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student success.
Attend required meetings, trainings, and school duties.
Serve as a lead chaperone for school events (e.g., REACH Week, retreats) and participate on committees as assigned.
Fulfill the JCS “Plus-One” expectation by sponsoring a co- or extra-curricular opportunity annually.
Student Engagement
Design and facilitate dynamic, hands-on learning experiences in entrepreneurship, financial literacy, business ethics, marketing, and problem-solving that actively engage students.
Cultivate in students an entrepreneurial mindset marked by resilience, creativity, adaptability, and responsible risk-taking.
Guide students in identifying real-world problems, developing innovative solutions, and refining business ideas through collaborative projects and presentations.
Provide individualized mentorship and feedback to support each student’s growth, confidence, and skill development.
Connect students with local business leaders and community partners through guest speakers, field experiences, and applied learning opportunities that extend beyond the classroom.
Program Development Responsibilities
Design and implement a vertically aligned 6th–8th grade Entrepreneurship and Finance pathway
Develop course scope and sequence, assessments, and project-based learning experiences.
Establish community and business partnerships to enhance experiential learning.
Evaluate and refine program effectiveness annually.
Provide vision and leadership for continued growth of the program.
Qualifications
Spiritual
· Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. Please check the school's website (www.jupiterchristian.org) regarding personal faith alignment to the JCS statement of Faith
· Must be able to demonstrate active membership and involvement in a local church
Education
· Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Business, or related field
· Required: ACSI Certification
Experience
· Required: Minimum of three years of teaching or similar experience in field
