Job Summary: The Jupiter Christian School Teacher must be a spiritually sensitive individual who understands the mission and philosophy of Jupiter Christian School and is committed to help see it become a reality in the lives of our students by manifesting, by precept and example, the highest Christian virtue and personal decorum, serving as a Christian role model (I Timothy 4:12) both in and out of school (Luke 6:40), and as an example to parents and fellow employees in judgement, dignity, respect, and Christian living according to the Conditions of Employment outlined in the JCS faculty contract. The teacher must be a born-again Christian with spiritual maturity in academic and leadership abilities that will enable him/her to teach God’s truth. The ability to communicate well with various types of people, handle confidential information appropriately, maintain a courteous, professional, and respectful attitude and integrity in all situations are pre-requisites. General Description of Duties and Responsibilities The Middle and High School Fine Arts Instructor is a passionate, creative and spiritually grounded educator to lead and develop our middle and high school instrumental and worship music programs. This full-time position includes teach Foundations of Modern Music and Worship Arts with opportunities for ensemble leadership and performance coordination e.g. pep band, jazz band, Solo and Ensemble, etc. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills and multi-tasking abilities. This role blends traditional ensemble instruction with contemporary music practices, including worship leadership, modern band instrumentation, and music technology such as digital audio workstations (DAWs). This individual must also demonstrate musical excellence, pedagogical expertise across various disciplines, and a heart for discipling students through the arts in a Christ-centered educational environment. Essential Job Requirements Instruction & Curriculum Development Teach middle and high school semester classes in modern instrumental music, including guitar, bass, keyboard, percussion, and vocals, providing sequential and developmentally appropriate instruction with biblical principles. Develop engaging lessons that support musical skill development, creativity, critical thinking, and spiritual growth. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of a diverse group of learners with varying levels of musical experience. Evaluate student performance and growth in knowledge and understanding while preparing regular progress reports and grades. Design and implement a curriculum that incorporates music theory, performance skills, worship leadership, and music production (e.g., GarageBand, Logic Pro, or similar). Instruct students in the use of digital tools for composing, arranging, and recording music. Guide students in developing personal musicianship, collaborative skills, and stage presence. Program Leadership Coordinate and direct rehearsals, performances, and student participation in chapels, concerts, festivals, and special community events. Direct student musicians and vocalists in modern music ensembles such as worship teams, jazz bands, and contemporary rock/pop groups. Plan and execute regular performances including chapels, school concerts, community events, and collaborative showcases. Organize and oversee student performances, trips, and special events (e.g. concerts, special field trips, etc). Maintains FMEA membership and submits for PD coverage through Title funds Leads a minimum of two fundraisers in collaboration with division Principals to support student activity and/or program needs Spiritual Mentorship Serve as a Christ-like role model in character, worship, and relationships. Encourage students to use their musical gifts for worship, service, and community building. Facilitate spiritual reflection and prayer within the classroom and rehearsal spaces. Administrative Maintain open communication with parents, students, and faculty regarding student progress, performances, and program events. Participate in faculty meetings, department planning, and school-wide initiatives. Collaborate with Spiritual Life division and division administrators to plan worship events and service elements. Maintain and inventory musical equipment, software, and instruments. Provides budgetary needs for the year to MS Principal Qualifications Spiritual: Must have a clear testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior Must be able to demonstrate active membership and involvement in an evangelical local church Education: Bachelor’s degree in music education, music performance, worship arts or similar Experience Required 3+ years of experience leading instrumental and worship arts music programs across a variety of grade levels Preferred: 8+ years of experience leading innovative music programs in Christian school settings Required Skills Must have instrumental involvement and experience leading instrumental groups, student ensembles and worship teams Must be a skilled musician with proficiency in multiple instruments. Must have strong organization and leadership skills Must have strong excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Must have the ability to organize and implement daily lesson plans, performance programs and cast long term vision planning. Must have the knowledge and proficiency with music writing software (Garage Band, Logic Pro, etc.) Knowledge and proficiency with music mixing, editing, basic sound equipment set up and technology integration is preferred.
