AN INVITATION TO SERVE: DRIVER ENGINEER
This isn't just another Driver Engineer assignment. This is a call for professionals who want to build a department from the ground up. The Town of Jupiter is starting from a "blank slate," and our founding Driver Engineers will be the architects of our operational readiness. We are seeking a Driver Engineer who is motivated by this mission and embodies our philosophy of service before self.
You will be a founding member of our department, setting the standard of excellence for apparatus operation and maintenance for all who follow. We are looking for leaders who are excited to create, mentor, and build a department that the "community loves" and our "team members love."
WHO YOU ARE: THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
•A Servant Leader: You are the living example of our "culture of service to the community first." You demonstrate your leadership through your actions, your readiness, and your unwavering support for your crew and the mission.
•An Expert Operator: You are a skilled professional, responsible for "driving and operating complex fire apparatus" in all situations. You have an extensive "knowledge of local roads" and are committed to "safe driving practices" to ensure your crew and the public are safe.
•The Company Technician: You are meticulous and proactive, taking ownership of the apparatus and its equipment. You are responsible for "routine and preventative maintenance checks," "inspecting apparatus equipment and tools," and ensuring your unit is operationally ready at all times.
•A Skilled Engineer: You are a master of your craft on the fire-ground. You "operate pumps, hoses, and other firefighting equipment," "managing water flow and maintaining accurate pressure" to support fire suppression. You are a highly skilled professional who also performs all firefighter and EMT duties as needed.
•The Captain's Right-Hand: You are the Fire Captain's trusted partner in "keeping the station running smoothly." You assist the company officer, help with "daily operational activities," and serve as an informal leader and mentor to the firefighters on your crew.
•A Builder with Integrity: You possess the "integrity" and "initiative" this "blank slate" opportunity demands. You are excited by the challenge of creating and standardizing "maintenance logs and inspection reports" and setting the operational procedures for our new fleet.
