PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION

The Logistics Coordinator ensures the Jupiter Fire Rescue Department's continuous operational readiness. This is accomplished by effectively managing the acquisition, inventory, distribution, maintenance, operation, and disposal of all essential tools, assets, apparatus, equipment, uniforms, and supplies. This crucial role provides timely and accurate logistical support, maintains detailed records, and ensures compliance with all relevant Town policies and regulations, directly supporting the fire department's mission. The Logistics Coordinator must be a self-motivated individual who can seamlessly manage the vital flow of equipment and supplies with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The following duties are typical for this position. Oversee the daily operations of the Logistics Warehouse and report directly to the Division Chief of Support Services and Logistics.
Tracks and maintains a comprehensive inventory of all firefighting and EMS equipment, apparatus, uniforms, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Distributes inventory, department-owned property, fixed assets, equipment, and supplies to ensure the continuous operational readiness of the Jupiter Fire Rescue Department.
Regularly assesses the operational readiness of all fire rescue tools, apparatus, equipment, and supplies.
Coordinates the repair and maintenance of firefighting and EMS tools, apparatus, and equipment, including managing third-party vendors as needed.
Checks and verifies invoices, receipts, packing slips, and the condition of received goods.
Collaborates with vendors to resolve issues such as complaints, incorrect orders, pricing discrepancies, and shipment errors, adhering to Town policy.
Ensures all purchased items are inventoried according to fire department and Town policy, and that property control asset tags are issued and recorded as required.
Oversees the maintenance, repair, and replacement of broken or missing equipment, ensuring proper documentation within assigned computer management systems.
Facilitates the purchase of departmental tools, equipment, apparatus, and supplies as directed by policy or the Division Chief of Support Services & Logistics.
Coordinate the fire department and Town inventory and capital asset audits.
Disposes of tangible property and items in accordance with State Statutes and fire department policy.
Conducts periodic physical inventory counts.
Ensures proper security and storage of all supplies and equipment.
Operates with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and efficient time management.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with Town officials, employees, and the public.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Serves as a member of various Town of Jupiter employee committees, as assigned.
Represents the Town of Jupiter at meetings, when requested.
Performs other related duties and specialized functions as required by the Fire Chief or their designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or equivalent
A minimum of five (5) or more years of experience with managing inventory, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and supplies.
A comparable amount of training, education, or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications
A valid Florida driver’s license is required. For application purposes, a valid driver’s license from any state (equivalent to a State of Florida Class E) may be utilized, and the ability to obtain the State of Florida license within thirty (30) days from the date of employment is required.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience within a fire rescue organization.
Knowledge of Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)
Knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Knowledge of fire pump operations and hydraulics.
Experience operating fire apparatus and heavy equipment.

Must have correct color vision and depth perception as noted in NFPA 1582. Must be able to lift and carry articles weighing up to 75 lbs. and push articles weighing up to 150 lbs. Exposure to extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Exposure to electricity, heights of up to 100 ft., noise, moving mechanical parts, confined spaces, vibration, radiation, dust, vapors, fumes, toxic metals, sensitizers, poisons, animals/insects, mist, gases, smoke, irritants, asphyxiates, and blood-borne pathogens.
