Description
Summary
The Patient Services Representative (PSR) III serves as a senior‑level, patient‑facing role responsible for greeting, registering, and supporting patients throughout the imaging visit process. In addition to core registration duties, the PSR III provides additional support functions, including deposit reconciliation, assisting with training and guidance of new team members, and handling more complex patient or scheduling situations. PSR III positions may include PSR Supervisors, who support daily operations and team oversight, or Float PSRs, who work across multiple imaging locations and maintain operational flexibility.
Essential Functions
· Greets patients promptly and courteously, completes check‑in, and registers patients arriving for scheduled or walk‑in imaging services. |
· Verifies required documentation, including prescriptions, authorizations or referrals, insurance cards, photo identification, and outside images needed for exam comparison. |
· Confirms patient exam preparation requirements and communicates with patients and referring provider offices to resolve missing or incomplete documentation. |
· Scans, uploads, and maintains required patient forms, signatures, and documents in the electronic system for accurate recordkeeping. |
· Updates demographic, insurance, and clinical information for returning patients to ensure accuracy and compliance. |
· Collects time‑of‑service payments (co‑pays, deductibles, and private pay), issues receipts, and accurately records transactions in the system. |
· Performs deposit reconciliation functions in accordance with department policies and internal controls. |
· Assists with training, mentoring, and guiding new PSR team members; supports leadership by identifying workflow issues and assisting with complex registration or patient situations. |
· For PSR Supervisor roles, provides day‑to‑day operational support, feedback on staff performance or challenges, and assists management as requested. |
· Performs additional duties as needed, including answering phones, escorting patients, scheduling or rescheduling exams, and working flexibly across multiple locations for Float PSR roles. |
