The FP&A Associate will support the Financial Planning & Analysis function in developing forward-looking financial information and analysis used to inform strategic and operational decision making across Related Ross. This role requires frequent interaction with senior leadership and close collaboration with the Development, Asset Management, and Accounting teams. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages for senior leadership.
- Maintain and manage the Related Ross consolidated cash flow model, which forecasts corporate revenues and expenses, development cash flows, capital requirements, and distributions. The model is a core tool for cash management, strategic planning, and internal reporting.
- Prepare monthly updates to the Related Ross P&L and cash flow forecasts for review with the CFO, including analysis and communication of budget-to-actual variances, risks and opportunities, and changes to key assumptions.
- Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecast processes for company-wide revenues, expenses, and capital needs, requiring close collaboration with the Development and Asset Management teams and a deep understanding of asset-level business plans .
- Support the annual portfolio valuation process, including compilation of market sales comparables, coordinating with third-party appraisers, and preparing internal valuation analyses.
- Maintain a dynamic property database and development pipeline tracker, including key performance indicators and portfolio-level metrics .
- Coordinate the monthly capital call process and presentation materials for senior leadership.
- Own the headcount and payroll budgeting model, including quarterly reforecasting, monthly budget vs. actual tracking, preparation of reporting packages, and variance analysis.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting in support of senior management and the Related Ross team.
- Support asset management activities for Related Ross’ retail portfolio by partnering with Property Management and Accounting to produce monthly asset management reports, annual budgets, and quarterly reforecasts, and to assist with capital markets initiatives.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree required.
- Advanced Degree, CFA and/or MBA, a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience in Finance and or/Accounting, preferably with exposure to real estate, asset management, or capital markets.
- Must have advanced Excel Modeling skills – will be tested.
- Must have strong proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Word.
- Ability to write clearly and concisely, translating complex financial concepts into actionable insights for senior leadership.
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on financial reporting and transforming raw data into meaningful analysis.
- Highly self-motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly.
- Demonstrated ownership mentality with accountability for actions regardless of the outcome.
- Superior organizational and time-management skills.
- Mature professional with sound judgment and strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience with accounting systems and financial information tools (e.g. JD Edwards, Hyperion, and database applications), is a plus.
- Ideal candidate will have a strong familiarity with capital markets and real estate finance.
- Proven ability to partner with senior leaders and anticipate reporting and analytical needs to support decision-making.
