Responsibilities

Related Ross recently launched a sponsorship division to provide brands with access to the growing audience of visitors, shoppers, diners, residential renters/condo buyers and office tenant executives and employees at the company’s various properties within and surrounding its large mixed-use districts in West Palm Beach. The company is looking to hire a Director of Sponsorship to oversee the day-to-day operations of the new business vertical.

The Director of Sponsorship is a newly created role that will manage the development and execution of strategic sponsorship programs that support revenue growth, brand partnerships, and market positioning in Palm Beach County. This individual will manage all aspects of the sponsorship business including sponsorship sales and fulfillment, from prospecting and pitching to activation and relationship management. Managing asset inventory, negotiations and contract management, internal reviews (including legal, risk, procurement and operations), and financial management. The Director of Sponsorship will also work closely with Related Ross’s marketing and events team on pitch materials, concepts, proposals, marketing fulfillment and analytics, as well as coordinate and manage the company’s external sponsorship sales group to develop solution-based packages for brands, sign deals and manage the partnerships through contract fulfillment and ultimately renewal.

Key Responsibilities

Sponsorship Strategy, Budgeting, and Plan Implementation

  • Create and implement a comprehensive sponsorship strategy aligned with organizational goals, including yearly development plans and budgets for the business with well-defined KPIs
  • Develop innovative sponsorship models and packages to attract diverse brand partners
  • Conduct executive P&L reviews in consultation with CFO and marketing SVP
  • Organize quarterly advance-planning sessions with internal and agency sales teams

Prospecting, Lead Generation and Sales Pitching

  • Lead day-to-day communication with external sales agency of record
  • Support the sales agency’s efforts by identifying, researching and engaging with potential sponsors across relevant industries as well as prepare tailored proposals and presentations for prospective partners and participate in pitches; host sponsors on site

Relationship Management

  • Manage leads and all aspect of client relationships within CRM
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for signed sponsors, ensuring fulfillment of all contractual obligations and timely delivery of reporting
  • Build and maintain long-term sponsor relationships through consistent engagement and value delivery
  • Liaise with Related Ross’s “family of brands” sponsorship team(s) including the Miami Dolphins, Hard Rock Stadium, F1 and Miami Open, to share leads and resources and build value for all properties

Negotiation and Contracting

  • Working with the sales agency team and internal stakeholders, negotiate sponsorship agreements that maximize revenue and align with the brand
  • Ensure all agreements are documented, compliant and executed effectively, including overseeing reviews by legal, risk, IT and other required internal groups
  • Track contract terms, renewals, and performance benchmarks

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with the marketing, events and CX teams to oversee execution of revenue-generating client partnership events, initiatives and sponsor-branded marketing materials
  • Identify and propose sponsorship-related assets for owned and operated properties
  • Work with procurement team to identify and maximize value within procurement-based sponsorship deals
  • Act as liaison with all relevant internal departments with respect to needs and questions regarding sponsor initiatives
  • Manage internal and external communications for each partnership with all stakeholder groups

Reporting and Analysis

  • Work with sales agency team to identify relevant KPIs and develop and update reporting formats that reflect sponsorship assets with internal business systems
  • Track sponsorship performance and ROI
  • Provide regular reports and updates to sponsors and sales agency team, as well as to executive leadership and other internal stakeholders
  • Create and implement a sponsorship recap program and materials designed to illustrate value and ROI driven from the sponsor’s partnership program with Related Ross

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, with at least 5-7 years in a leadership role within customer experience within hospitality, real estate or a related field

Education

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree with preference for some course work in hospitality, entertainment, retail, real estate or a related field
