Responsibilities:• Serve as Project Manager for historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects from concept through construction administration. Projects may be located throughout the State of Florida.• Lead coordination with potential ACHP, SHPO, local Historic Preservation Boards, planning departments, and review agencies.• Manage projects involving National Register listed properties, contributing resources, and locally designated historic structures and neighborhoods.• Oversee preparation of historic documentation, including conditions assessments, preservation plans, and scope narratives. Supervise production of building scanning• Guide design teams to ensure compliance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, as well as other State and/or Local historic preservation requirement as applicable to specific projects.• Manage client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor on preservation strategy including support for grant-funded projects, tax credit coordination, or phased funding strategies. Carefully review with the President of the company.• Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and staffing plans, with a focus on risk management for historic projects.• Lead agency presentations, public hearings, and community meetings as required.• Provide technical oversight for renovation details, materials, and restoration methodologies.• Review construction documents for preservation compliance and constructability.• Support during construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and field observations for historic work.• Mentor junior staff on preservation best practices, documentation standards, and regulatory processes.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture / Historic Preservation from an NCARB accredited University/program.• 10+ years of professional experience in architecture, with a strong focus on historic preservation, renovation, and adaptive reuse projects.• Demonstrated expertise working with historic regulatory agencies, including SHPO, local Historic Preservation Boards, and planning departments.• In-depth knowledge of the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation and their application in real-world projects.• Experience managing projects involving National Register listed properties, contributing resources, or locally designated historic structures.• Strong understanding of historic Florida construction methods, materials, and restoration techniques.• Comprehensive knowledge of Florida Building Codes and the permitting process.• Comfort presenting to clients, public boards, review committees, and community stakeholders.• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.• Excellent organization, detail-oriented, and self-motivation skills.• Excellent team skills and abilities to collaborate with staff, consultants, and others.• Hand sketching of ideas and concepts is a plus.• Professional Architecture License (preferred).Software Knowledge:• 3D Software: REVIT experience required.• 2D Software: Adobe products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
