POSITION: Quality Inspector
LOCATION: Jupiter, FL.
STATUS: Hourly Non-Exempt
JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Performs incoming, in-process and final dimensional, visual and functional inspections on various commercial and military aerospace turbine by following written procedures
and established practices - Performs inspections for AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and documents variable or attribute data as required
- Interfaces with aerospace engineering regarding recommendations for work instruction and/or router improvements
- Generates NCRs in quality management system
- Reviews job paperwork through entire inspection process to ensure completeness and conformity
- Utilizes precision measuring equipment as required
- Operates small cranes to move equipment, parts, and material
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area
- Follows Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in a fast-paced environment
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Complete Specific on-the-job training towards meeting essential duties and work area performance criteria.
- Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix.
Skills/Experience
- 3+ years of inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions
- Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and time keeping applications
- Must be detail orientated
Physical Requirements
- Stooping/Crouching. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
- Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
- Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
- Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
- Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time
- Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another.
- Pushing & Pulling
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
- Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
- The worker is subject to noise. There may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to
shoutraise their voice to be heard above ambient noise level. - The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
- Capable of wearing required PPE
