About this role
Responsible for directing advancement operations, including donor data management, reporting, gift processing, and compliance. Ensures the integrity, accuracy, and strategic use of donor information to support fundraising, stewardship, and decision-making.What a day of an Advancement Services Director looks like:
Oversees donor information tracking using Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) standard best practices, ensuring compliance with industry guidelines and ethical standards.
Maintains and optimizes the donor database to support prospect management, segmentation, and reporting needs. Ensures accurate record keeping on all donor information, including gifts, pledges, stewardship activities, and donor interactions.
Establishes and enforces data governance policies, procedures, and quality control protocols.
Directs the creation and distribution of comprehensive endowment and donor impact reports to demonstrate philanthropic outcomes, strengthen donor stewardship, and support strategic decision-making.
Ensures compliance with IRS regulations, donor intent, and institutional policies.
Oversees all gift processing functions, including managing receipts, acknowledgments, and documentation for all contributions.
Ensures integration between advancement systems and institutional platforms.
Develops and strengthens relationships with campus service providers and works collaboratively to ensure successful outcomes. Meets regularly with donors, clients, colleagues, and college leadership to discuss strategy, elements, and report on progress.
Manages the activities of two or more staff. This includes but is not limited to setting goals, providing guidance, conducting performance appraisals, and identifying training and development needs.
Maintains current knowledge of field or profession. Travels to training workshops, conferences, meetings, and professional events outside of college locations, as needed.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
Four years of related experience in advancement services, development operations, or related field
Experience with endowment reporting and financial reconciliation processes
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising and donor management software
CASE standards, gift processing, and advancement data governance
Donor database systems and reporting tools
Skilled in:
Strategic thinking including effective planning, setting goals, monitoring progress, tracking results, and making appropriate adjustments to plans based on circumstances and context
Creative thinking and problem solving to explore new technology, processes, and approaches
Ability to:
Handle highly sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service
Collect, organize, and analyze complex data to develop new conclusions and translate into actionable insights
Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the capacity to prioritize, process, and execute multiple projects at a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Regular physical attendance required
Some periods throughout the year will require extended work hours including nights, weekends, and college closures

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $69,593.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
