About this role
Responsible for providing student admissions, coordination of application and registration activity, customer services, admissions support services to other programs and areas, and supervision of the office staff in the absence of the Campus Registrar. Advises prospective and newly admitted students regarding issues related to the application, registration, and residency. Assists with campus based dual enrollment/early admissions programs, including processing and issue resolution. Facilitates information sessions related to college admissions. Requires the ability to work a fluctuating schedule, including nights and weekends.Shift: Monday - Thursday 10 AM - 7 PM and Friday 8 AM - 5 PM (Summer schedule may require 4-day extended hours)
What a day of an Admissions Advisor looks like:
Provides comprehensive counseling to students both currently enrolled and prospective students and their families as to the guidelines of the admission process and eligibility utilizing a variety of formats.
Advise students on college related matters including selecting a major or program. Assist in understanding educational, personal and occupational strengths and limitations.
Analyzes standardized test results and assist faculty, staff and public in understanding purposes and results.
Presents college information to community schools and organizations regarding the College’s degree program and certificate programs.
Provides consultation and assistance regarding specific matters within area of expertise.
Prepares required reports for various internal and external requests.
Assists students with registration paperwork and registration on system.
Conducts or participates in seminars, workshops or training sessions.
Administers special orientations for Student Outreach programs.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree
Two years of related experience
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office Professional or similar application
Skilled in:
Attention to detail while maintaining effective time and task management
Fact finding, analysis, and problem solving
Delivering a high level of customer service
Ability to:
Demonstrate critical thinking and interpersonal skills
Interact in a positive manner with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public
Organize and prioritize multiple, competing priorities to maximize personal and team effectiveness
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing on a regular basis with internal and external customers, build relationships, manage customer expectations and take responsibility for a high level of service
Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:
Regular physical attendance required
Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) within 30 days of employment
Some periods throughout the year will require extended work hours including nights, weekends, and college closures
Work Environment and Physical Demand:
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing 20 to 49 pounds
Lift, carry, push, pull, install or remove objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
Reach and grasp objects
Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

The minimum base pay for this position starts at $44,587.00 annually; however, the offer may vary based on the candidate’s education and experience.
