Job Summary:
Under general supervision, observes students enrolled in the Early Childhood program at the student’s work site. Assesses student learning in relation to course objectives. Uses the CDA National Credential Scoring Instrument to determine scores in each of the 13 Functional Areas.
This is an on-call position as hours vary according to enrollment and site specifics.Varies

Base Pay: $21.44. Offer amount based on College's Salary Schedule guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Travels to student’s early learning work site to observe students enrolled in the program.

  • Reviews student’s professional portfolio.

  • Observes and scores students working with children in the appropriate age group.

  • Provides scoring and feedback on results CDA National Credential Scoring Instrument, which includes advising students of best practices and strategies for improvement.

  • Maintains student files containing results of written observation tool.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with a minimum of six credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Growth & Development. For school-age programs, bachelor’s degree or higher with six college credits in school-age education.

  • One-year related experience.

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar application

Skilled in:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong time management

  • Detail oriented

  • Strong leadership

Ability to:

  • Work with diverse populations and varying education levels

Licenses, Registration, Certifications, or Special Requirements:

  • Valid Florida driver’s license

Work Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Reach and grasp objects

  • Stand for extended periods of time

  • Use of video display terminal

  • Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills

  • Identify and distinguish colors and shades of color

  • Communicate information orally and in writing

  • Receive and understand information through oral and written communication

  • Proofread and check documents for accuracy

  • Operate a motor vehicle

  • Work a fluctuating work schedule
