Clery Compliance Coordinator

SUMMARY

In support of the university’s mission and objectives, the Clery Compliance Coordinator oversees compliance with the Clery Act through timely reporting of campus crime and fire safety data, policy development, and training coordination for Campus Security Authorities. This role also assists with key distribution, access control, card-related financial systems, and select surveillance system functions to ensure effective operations and regulatory compliance.

Clery Act Compliance

  • Coordinates PBA’s Clery Act compliance programs by initiating, developing, and maintaining all Clery Act compliance components, policies, and procedures.
  • Assists in preparing data and publishing PBA’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Reports.
  • Develops, facilitates, and coordinates training for Campus Security Authorities to ensure awareness of Clery act responsibilities and reporting requirements.

Emergency Response Notification

Timely Warning & Emergency Notification

  • Assists in developing and managing a Timely Warning and Emergency Notification program.
  • Evaluates incidents to determine if a Timely Warning or Emergency Notification is warranted and provides guidance on appropriate next steps.
  • Responds to reports and offers input on the content of warnings or notifications.

System Testing and Compliance

  • Collaborates with the Public Safety Department and Emergency Management Team to ensure testing of the emergency notification system.
  • Ensures emergency notification tests meet the Higher Education Opportunity Act’s (HEOA) test definition.

Evacuation and Preparedness

  • Collaborates with the Office of Residence Life on evacuation policy and procedures.
  • Assists with evacuation drills as needed.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration and Protocol Department

  • Partners with PBA departments including but not limited to Student Development, Department of Public Safety, Counseling and Wellness, Risk Management, Human Resources, Title IX to establish response protocols, procedures, and training.

Department of Public Safety Support

Customer Service and Access Management

  • Provides frontline and administrative support to the Department of Public Safety.
  • Responds to Card Services customer requests received in person, by phone, voicemail, email, and Teams.
  • Processes key distributions and access badges to visitors and contractors.
  • Processes new and replacement access cards for students, employees, and on-campus contractors.

Reporting & Transactions

  • Generates weekly camera log reports defining recording status.
  • Processes financial transactions related to meal plans, including purchases and payments for replacement IDs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

  • Post high school training required; Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years’ experience of the Clery Act, including all changes to the Act or other laws or regulations affecting Clery Act provisions, preferred.
  • Experience with access control systems, card services software, and basic financial transaction processing required.
  • Experience training Campus Security Authorities (CSAs), preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, required.
  • Experience in Canva software preferred.
