Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Summary
The Assistant/Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice provides didactic and/or clinical instruction to Doctoral Pharmacy students. In addition to academic responsibilities, this faculty member is expected to assist in the professional and spiritual growth of pharmacy students. Part of the academic responsibility is to engage in research and scholarly activity, to participate as an active member of assigned school or university committees, and to serve as faculty advisor to a group of pharmacy students…all in accordance with expectations as assigned by the chair and approved by the dean.
Essential Functions:
- Provides didactic and/or clinical instruction within assigned courses.
- Maintains an active clinical practice in accordance with area of specialty
- Integrates faith and professional values into instructional activities where applicable.
- Serves as an advisor to PharmD students as assigned.
- Conducts research and/or scholarly activity associated with areas of his/her expertise that is either published or presented following peer review.
- Participates actively in professional organizations associated with his/her discipline.
- Serves as a role model of professional, servant leader behavior to students.
- Serves on task forces and committees as assigned.
- Attends faculty meetings, faculty development programs and other school functions as assigned.
- Participates in other duties as assigned in service to the school or university.
- Represents the school at various functions.
- Assists with faculty recruitment and student applicant interviews.
Qualifications
Education:
- PharmD
Experience:
- Pharmacy residency training or Ph.D. in a specific discipline within the Pharmacy Practice/Social Administrative Sciences.
- Candidates must demonstrate the ability to engage in research and/or scholarly activity.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy practice, in a specific discipline.
- Effective organization of duties and attention to detail, ensuring that responsibilities are completed in a timely, efficient manner.
- Constructive, collaborative relationships, with evidence of a compassionate, cooperative spirit.
- Effective planning, goal setting and tracking of progress to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Evidence of Christian faith and a commitment to integrate that faith into one’s daily activities.
- Sound clinical judgment and rational therapeutic decision-making.
- Decisions and actions are fully congruent with the mission, vision, goals and core values of both the university and the school.
- Effective communication: keeping people informed as needed; being receptive and approachable.
