Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable M&A Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will play a key role in supporting mergers and acquisitions activities from a technical accounting perspective, including performing financial due diligence, reviewing purchase agreements, providing working capital calculations, tracking and valuing contingent consideration, opening balance sheet valuations, and other post-close related accounting activities. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders and external advisors to evaluate complex accounting issues, prepare technical accounting analyses, and support transaction-related decision making.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience including meaningful exposure to M&A transactions and technical accounting matters who demonstrates strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of GAAP, and who is eager to support strategic transactions and contribute to the organization’s growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of financial due diligence by analyzing detailed financial statement data and preparing supporting schedules and analyses.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information used in due diligence by validating completeness and consistency.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements and conduct research on accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Perform data collection and document review to accounting for all acquisitions activities
  • Perform working capital calculations
  • Perform opening balance sheet valuations and calculations
  • Review, support, and document the valuation of contingent consideration, including coordination with third-party valuation specialists and preparation of related accounting conclusions
  • Tracking of contingent consideration for all acquisitions
  • Support general accounting and close activities as needed, with a primary focus on transaction-related and technical accounting matters
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies and participate in maintaining effective internal controls
  • Support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, gathering documentation, and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations
  • Maintain organized financial records, workpapers, and documentation to ensure audit readiness and operational accuracy

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 2–5 years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting or corporate environment preferred)
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability
  • Experience working in modern ERP environments (Workday, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA license or CPA exam candidate / progress toward certification
  • Experience with month-end close processes in a mid-sized or larger organization
  • Familiarity with financial reporting, budgeting, and variance analysis
  • Exposure to private equity–backed or acquisitive environments
  • Experience in Private Wealth Management, Institutional Retirement/OCIO, or Business Management industries
  • Experience with Workday ERP
  • Knowledge of additional BI and ELT tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or advanced Excel macros/tools (e.g., Power Query) for reporting

The base salary range for this position is $70,000-$100,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
