JOB OVERVIEW:
Join the leader in workers compensation data and information services in the role of Assistant Actuarial Analyst where you will produce standard actuarial analyses for NCCI’s actuarial products and services, such as rate filings, legislative cost analyses, reserving, and research.
WORK LOCATION:
This position will work in a flexible-hybrid environment. The selected candidate must live locally within a commutable distance to our Boca Raton, FL headquarters.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Complete assigned standard actuarial analysis tasks for rate filings, legislative cost analyses, reserving, data validation, products, and/or research
- Utilize actuarial systems and programming skills to access and organize data, perform actuarial calculations, analyze moderate to complex information, evaluate results and the accuracy of inputs, update exhibits and slides, and complete documentation
- Develop an understanding of the technical, actuarial, insurance, economic, and statistical concepts behind the tasks performed
- Develop proficiency in using actuarial systems and NCCI databases
- Sit for and pass actuarial exams
WHAT IT TAKES:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One CAS-accredited actuarial exam
- Strong mathematics and statistical skills
- Inquisitiveness and a desire to learn
- Ability to deliver quality work and meet deadlines
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Economics, or equivalent demonstrating skills needed to pass actuarial exams
- Statistical modeling experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Programming expertise (ie: SQL, VBA, and R)
- Experience analyzing data
