Compensation & Benefits

• $25–$45 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
• Starting compensation is determined by experience, diagnostic ability, manufacturer knowledge, certifications, and overall skill level

What You'll Do

As a Marine Technician with Brady Boat Works, you will diagnose, service, repair, and maintain a wide variety of marine engines and vessel systems.

Responsibilities include:

• Diagnose, service, repair, and maintain marine engines and vessel systems
• Perform routine and preventative engine maintenance
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and marine systems
• Perform computer diagnostics and accurately identify system faults
• Service and repair steering, trim, and tilt systems
• Diagnose and repair marine electrical systems
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain marine electronics and equipment
• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance, including pumps, bilge systems, washdowns, livewells, heads, and related components
• Perform vessel inspections and evaluations when needed
• Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
• Identify additional maintenance or repair needs and communicate recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
• Document work performed accurately
• Communicate professionally with customers regarding repairs and service recommendations
• Follow manufacturer specifications, company procedures, and applicable safety standards
• Represent Brady Boat Works professionally while working at customer vessels, marinas, and other service locations

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional marine technician experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to independently diagnose problems and determine appropriate repairs
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team member
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Valid driver's license
• Reliable and professional
• Ability to safely work around boats, marine equipment, and varying job-site conditions
• Strong communication and customer-service skills

Preferred Experience

Experience with any of the following is highly desirable:

• Outboard engine repair and maintenance
• Honda, Yamaha, and/or Mercury engines
• Marine electrical systems
• Hydraulic systems
• Computer diagnostics
• Marine electronics
• Steering, trim, and tilt systems
• Preventative maintenance
• Marine plumbing and pump systems
• Vessel inspections
• Pre-purchase inspections

Manufacturer certifications are a plus, but we are willing to invest in the right technician who is motivated to learn and develop their skills.

90-Day Training & Performance Review

Every new technician will begin with a 90-day training and evaluation period.

This period is designed to familiarize you with Brady Boat Works' service standards, procedures, customers, equipment, and expectations while allowing both you and the company to determine the best long-term fit.

At the completion of the 90-day period, we will conduct a formal performance review and discuss:

• Performance and overall fit
• Potential compensation adjustment
• Schedule
• Responsibilities and level of independence
• Training and manufacturer certification opportunities
• Long-term growth and advancement opportunities

The company truck will be provided upon successful completion of the 90-day training period.
