Summary:

This position will be responsible for management and administration of all phases of a highly competitive Division II tennis program, within the guidelines, rules and regulations established by the University, Sunshine State Conference, and NCAA

Job Description:

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Recruit and retain high quality student-athletes.
  • Organize, supervise, coordinate, and evaluate practice sessions.
  • Adhere to rules and regulations of the University, SSC, and NCAA.
  • Responsible for administrative duties including but not limited to; CARA logs, scheduling, campus collaboration, NCAA trainings, campus trainings and compliance duties.
  • Promote and support high academic standards and achievement with student-athletes
  • Meet with high school prospects, alumni, and friends of the University as required.
  • Responsible for planning transportation, travel, lodging, and meals for team competition.
  • Manage and work with given budgets.
  • Work closely with trainers and team physicians regarding well-being of student-athletes.
  • Collaborate effectively with sport performance coaches and is actively involved in team training.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with administrators both in the department and across campus.
  • Participate and contributes to athletics fundraising and community building.
  • Responsible for scheduling matches in coordination with the Men’s tennis program and other events as delegated.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Follow University and departmental policies.

  • Must represent the Lynn University department of Athletics and Lynn University with high character and demonstrate respect for all people.
  • Coaches association membership and certification preferred.
  • CPR/AED certification renewed by the university every two years.
  • Maintains self-control and exhibits sportsmanship and professional demeanor.
  • Promotes and supports high academic standards and achievements with student-athletes.
  • Ability to pass a driver's record check.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.

Minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of college coaching experience.
