What this job involves –
Leads project management services for critical facilities infrastructure projects, specializing in data centers and mission-critical environments. Provides project estimation and supervision for major and minor infrastructure upgrades, power and cooling system installations, and facility expansions. Reviews and comments on Design Intent Drawings and As-Built Drawings specific to data center infrastructure. Operates, maintains, and repairs critical systems including power distribution, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, fire suppression, and security systems as directed by management.
What is your day to day?
- Support project executives on multiple critical facilities and data center infrastructure projects
- Develop scope and schedule for mission-critical infrastructure projects including power, cooling, networking, and security systems
- Identify and address areas of concern regarding potential risks surrounding uptime requirements, redundancy protocols, budget, and scope compliance
- Coordinate and track all Vendor Request For Proposals ("RFPs") for critical infrastructure vendors and specialized contractors
- Interact and negotiate with data center contractors, MEP specialists, and mission-critical system integrators
- Prepare/update project status reports with focus on uptime impact, process invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain files for compliance and financial requirements
- Ability to prepare and track budgets for complex infrastructure projects with Tier reliability requirements • Understanding of technical requirements for data center builds, electrical infrastructure upgrades, cooling system installations, and disaster recovery projects
- Familiarity with data center design standards, power distribution layouts, and critical infrastructure planning concepts
- Able to adapt and prioritize meeting strict deadlines while maintaining 24/7 operational requirements in critical environments
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience in critical facilities, data center construction, or mission-critical infrastructure – or equivalent combination of relevant work experience, education, or Military experience in Engineering Design or Construction
- Must be proficient in reviewing and commenting on Design Intent Drawings and As-Built Drawings for data center and critical infrastructure projects
- Experience overseeing data center construction, critical infrastructure upgrades, and/or modernization of mission-critical facilities
- Must have cost estimating experience with critical facilities projects (particularly with RS Means cost estimating format for specialized systems)
- Knowledge of data center standards (TIA-942, Uptime Institute Tier classifications)
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field
- LEED, AIA, PE, PMP, or data center certifications (DCCA, CDCP)
- Experience in critical facilities sectors (data centers, telecommunications, healthcare, financial services)
- Familiarity with mission-critical systems: UPS, generators, PDUs, cooling systems, fire suppression, and monitoring systems
Estimated compensation for this position:
125,000.00 – 130,000.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
