The Prequalification Coordinator ensures that subcontractors meet the necessary qualifications for participation in our Subcontractor Default Insurance program and are successfully enrolled in Compass. The ideal candidate is highly organized, self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. They are not afraid to pick up the phone, engage with subcontractors, and follow through on outstanding items with persistence and professionalism.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Invite, coordinate and manage the Compass prequalification enrollment process for all subcontractors.
  • Take proactive steps to ensure subcontractors are properly enrolled in Compass, including outreach, guidance, and troubleshooting.
  • Review and track subcontractor submissions, including financials, safety records, and insurance documentation.
  • Communicate directly with subcontractors to request missing information, clarify requirements, and ensure timely responses.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of prequalification enrollment status and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (Estimating, Compliance and Operations) to assess subcontractor eligibility and escalate concerns.
  • Assist Risk Manager in preparing reports and summaries for leadership on Compass enrollment status and subcontractor prequalification progress.
  • Follow up consistently with subcontractors to ensure completion of Compass enrollment requirements.
  • Assist in refining and improving prequalification workflows and tools.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2+ years of experience in construction, insurance, risk management, or related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging with external stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with project management software tools is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to sit with back at a 90-degree angle for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to look at a computer for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Full dexterity of wrists and fingers required with repetitive motions.
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to regularly lift, push, pull or carry up to 10 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
