Position Specific Description

We are seeking an experienced development leader to join NextEra Energy Resources’ Hub Integration team and lead the development and execution of large-scale energy infrastructure Hubs supporting hyperscale data centers and other large-load customers.

The Project Director will serve as the primary integrator for one or more Hubs, coordinating concurrent workstreams across power generation, battery storage, powered land, transmission and interconnection, commercial activities, and supporting infrastructure. This individual will drive overall project execution by establishing priorities, managing milestones and dependencies, resolving risks, facilitating decisions, and maintaining alignment across internal teams and external stakeholders.

This highly visible role requires a proven track record leading complex infrastructure or development projects from concept through execution, as well as the ability to lead through influence in a matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, synthesize complex or incomplete information, escalate critical issues appropriately, and communicate effectively across technical, commercial, and executive audiences. They must be comfortable leading cross-functional teams, engaging customers and external stakeholders, and presenting project status, risks, recommendations, and key decisions to VP and senior executive leadership.

Candidates should bring approximately 7+ years of relevant development, infrastructure, energy, real estate, engineering, construction, or other complex project experience, including meaningful experience personally leading large, multidisciplinary projects. Direct experience with power generation, data centers, large-load development, transmission/interconnection, battery storage, or powered land development is beneficial but not required. More important is a demonstrated ability to rapidly understand unfamiliar subject matter, integrate multiple disciplines, exercise sound commercial and development judgment, and consistently move complex projects from concept toward execution.

Responsibilities include:

• Serve as the day-to-day leader and primary integrator for one or more Hubs, maintaining accountability for overall project advancement and execution across multiple parallel workstreams.
• Establish and manage the integrated Hub development plan, schedule, critical path, milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and executive action items.
• Lead cross-functional teams spanning generation development, BESS, powered land, transmission/interconnection, origination, structuring, engineering and construction, environmental, permitting, regulatory, finance, legal, and other functions.
• Drive timely resolution of cross-functional issues and tradeoffs, particularly where decisions within one asset or workstream affect overall Hub cost, schedule, risk, or commercial objectives.
• Develop recommendations and make decisions with incomplete information by clearly identifying assumptions, risks, alternatives, and information required to progressively reduce uncertainty.
• Establish effective project governance and communication rhythms and ensure project information, decisions, accountabilities, and milestones are clearly documented and understood.
• Prepare and deliver concise executive-level written, verbal, and presentation materials communicating project status, critical risks, recommendations, and decisions required.
• Represent the integrated Hub in discussions with customers, partners, utilities, governmental entities, consultants, and other external stakeholders as appropriate.
• Partner with individual asset and functional leaders while maintaining an independent, integrated perspective on what is required to successfully deliver the overall Hub.
• Proactively identify emerging risks and opportunities and drive mitigation or resolution before they affect critical project milestones.
