Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division is looking for a senior engineer to manage combustion turbine capital spare parts (CSP) for the GE 7FA.05 and 7HA fleets supporting the combustion turbine fleet team. This position will be part of the Combustion Turbine Fleet Team (CTFT) under the Engineering and Operations Support Services (EOSS) organization. This position will include occasional travel to various OEM facilities to discuss FPL hardware issues, repairs, outage planning, and upstream quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

The parts management specialist will be an integral part of the combustion turbine fleet team, with a primary focus on 7FA.05 and 7HA capital spare parts. CSPs include all turbine hot gas path, combustion, compressor flow path and rotor parts identified in OEM contracts. The engineer will participate in all team meetings and discussions related to RCAs and fleet management to best prepare parts strategies to meet evolving needs. The role will also assist the entire combustion turbine fleet team with outage planning and work tracking for significant work scopes such as TILs, PMs, upgrade MOCs, etc.

Primary responsibilities include:

• Manage 7FA.05 and 7HA capital spare parts through entire lifecycle of inventory, operation, repair, retirement and new procurement.
• Maintain regular communication with OEM, holding OEM accountable for parts repair and delivery plan, elevating issues in advance of outage impacts.
• Maintain and deliver precise monthly cash flow reports to our business leads, property accounting, and finance departments.
• Develop and submit outage CSP plans for all planned and unplanned 7FA.05 and 7HA outages.
• Build 10-year CSP plan with associated budget, track current year budget.
• Coordinate with OEMs, ISC, and property accounting to validate assets and issue pertinent purchase orders.
• Forecast and onboard CSPs for new GE 7FA.05 and 7HA assets as they enter our portfolio.
• Collaborate closely with the combustion fleet team to cut in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) Corrections, OEM bulletin recommendations, and risk mitigation upgrades during hardware repairs.

The Ideal Candidate Would Have The Following:

• Experience: 4+ years of power generation experience
• Proficient in Maximo
• Strong communication skills
• Bachelor of Science
• Experience: 3+ years combustion turbines and/or turbomachinery

Occasional after-hours and weekend support is expected for emergent work scopes that involve CSPs . Occasional travel, ~15%
