Position Summary:
The Division of Research at Florida Atlantic University is seeking a part-time Proposal Administrator, Office of Sponsored Programs in Boca Raton, FL.
The Office of Sponsored Programs is the central office for the submission of research, training and community service proposals. It manages proposals, contracts, sub-awards, grant agreements and research-related training for faculty, staff and research administrators. The Proposal Administrator reports to the Associate Director and supports the office by reviewing submitted proposals to ensure they meet sponsor, federal, and university requirements.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Completes review of partially reviewed proposals.
Reviews sponsor solicitation/RFP and confirms proposal meets the solicitation requirements.
Reviews proposal documents and applications submitted through FAU’s Novelution system and confirms documents are correct and comply with sponsor and FAU requirements.
Confirms calculations and rates used in budget and budget justification for both FAU and subrecipient budgets.
Follows-up with the PI and departmental research administrator regarding missing, incomplete or incorrect information. Identifies proposal information requiring changes or edits. Maintains complete records and documentation.
Confirms investigators and other personnel on a proposal have completed required University, sponsor, regulatory, and other training mandates and disclosures.
Serves as liaison between principal investigators, university units, funding sources and regulatory agencies and the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Resolves routine and non-routine problems, including complex situations as they arise or recommends solutions. Must have the ability to seek resolution through various resources and provide proper guidance.
Exercises independent sound judgment in following established procedures where alternative solutions are limited.
Utilizes a solid understanding of federal regulations for sponsored research.
Stays abreast of changes to federal regulations, sponsor rules and university policies.
Familiar with sponsors submission portals, i.e. Research.gov, NIH ASSIST, Grants.gov

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization andtwo years of grant or research administration experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of grant or research
administration experience required.
Experience working at a university or college assisting with proposal submissions required.
Salary:

Temporary positions are usually not eligible for benefits and retirement; however, they may be eligible for health insurance coverage depending on the average hours worked per week.
