Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator of Mentoring Programs - Boca Raton, FL.

The Office of Government Relations and Economic Development is excited to recruit for the Coordinator of Mentoring Programs. This role will support the Presidential Mentoring programs and the existing specialty initiatives. This will align with institutional priorities in community engagement, experiential learning, and student success.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide event and onboarding support for mentoring programs associated with Florida Atlantic University and its Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, Alumni & Community Engagement, and other constituents.

  • Support the Presidential Mentoring programs and the existing specialty initiatives, aligning with institutional priorities in community engagement, experiential learning, and student success.

Program Leadership & Development:

  • Support and design events for mentoring aligned with the mission and values of Florida Atlantic University and the ultimate State University System of Florida's strategic plan for the year 2030.

  • Lead onboarding of mentors and work hand in hand with Human Resources to expand mentoring initiatives across FAU and in the community, including programs supporting alumni, community partners, and lifelong learners.

Program Coordination:

  • Co-host orientation and training for mentors/mentees.

  • Attend/host events to support Presidential Mentorship and Specialist programs.

  • Create assessments (in alignment with BOG Metric) to measure impact and inform continuous improvement.

Outreach, Partnerships, & Communications:

  • Strengthen visibility of mentoring programs through tabling initiatives, orientation, admissions events, etc., alongside the Assistant Director.

  • Provide direct support for mentoring programs through in-person engagement and hands-on assistance.

  • Attend meetings with Mentor Collective and Champions across Florida Atlantic.

  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in higher education, involving community engagement and/or life learning units.

Success in securing external partners, volunteers, or funding.

Commitment to advancing Florida Atlantic's mission of student success and community impact.

Salary:

$50,000 - $55,000 per year.
