Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Paralegal - Boca Raton, FL.

The Office of the General Counsel at Florida Atlantic University provides legal advice and services to the University's agents, officers, employees, and related organization on University matters. The paralegal will report to the Vice President and General Counsel.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for assisting University Counsel with research of state and federal law and administrative and fiscal rules and policies.

  • Will oversee the University’s response to subpoenas and assist litigation counsel with pretrial preparation and discovery, including record production, witness preparation, e-filing, and scheduling. Will assist the General Counsel with Board of Trustees’ meetings, including preparation of meeting minutes, as well as posting and maintaining University Regulations and Policies on the University website.

  • Will assist University administrators and inter-institutional groups in resolving specific legal, administrative, and regulatory problems. The paralegal will also disseminate information regarding SUS/University rules, policies and contracts.

  • May serve as a liaison between the Office of the General Counsel and other agencies and departments.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of study and three years experiences as a paralegal required.
