Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Advising Services Program Assistant - Boca Raton, FL.
The Advising Services Program Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the college advising team by providing front-line assistance to students, ensuring efficient office operations, and coordinating administrative tasks. This position serves as a key resource for students seeking guidance, helps manage advising workflows, and contributes to the overall success of the advising office through exceptional customer service and organizational support.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Act as an assistant advisor for walk-in/call-in students to assist the professional advising staff with managing their caseloads.
Answer general questions from students regarding topics such as required grades for specific courses, University and College requirements, for example, FLNT vs. FLEX, assist with student petitions (College and University), answer questions about minors, and refer students to other University services once a specific need is determined.
Determine if there is a genuine advising emergency; refer to the advisor with appropriate information to facilitate assistance to the student.
Participate in staff meetings to identify problem areas proactively and aid advising staff on appropriate policy and procedure changes and development.
Serve as receptionist for college advising office with emphasis on superior customer service, including greeting visitors and directing them to the appropriate person while answering general questions, answering phones and routing them to the correct person or department, and scheduling student advising appointments.
Act as day-to-day supervisor for student assistants. Assign duties to the student assistants as discussed with Associate Director of Advising and advising staff and verify work is completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Support the college advising staff with administrative duties such as travel reimbursement and other workday related duties.
Coordinate materials for orientation, open house and other CDSI College of Social Work & Criminal Justice advising related student events.
Research specific College issues as needed and report findings, this includes student records.
Update digital screens and office signage as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma and four years of appropriate experience required.Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Experience providing administrative or office support in a professional setting.
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Prior work experience in a higher education environment.
Salary:
