Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Coordinator for Education Abroad - Boca Raton, FL.

Reporting to the Director of Education Abroad, the Coordinator for Education Abroad supports outbound study abroad students and inbound international exchange students through advising, program coordination, and administrative tasks. The Coordinator works closely with FAU faculty, academic units, administrative offices, and international partners to facilitate successful participation in international education opportunities.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive advising to outbound study abroad students and incoming exchange students on program options, eligibility, application steps, course registration, housing, and cultural adjustment.

  • Promote study abroad and other global learning opportunities through presentations, workshops, orientations, tabling, and campus-wide outreach.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for a designated portfolio of international programs.

  • Support all processes related to assigned outbound and inbound programs, including applications, documentation, payments, insurance enrollment, course approvals, and student records.

  • Monitor program deadlines, policies, and requirements to ensure students remain on track.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for a designated portfolio of international programs.

  • Under the supervision of the EA Director, coordinate logistics for short-term faculty-led study abroad programs. Assist faculty throughout the proposal, preparation, and implementation stages of short-term faculty-led study abroad programs.

  • Set up program applications, support student enrollment, maintain program documents, and assist with logistics coordination as assigned.

  • Prepare and submit purchase requests, invoices, travel reimbursements, and other routine financial transactions.

  • Maintain organized administrative workflows, office records, and data reporting used for program operations and compliance.

  • Participate in occasional domestic or international travel for program visits, training, or professional development opportunities.

  • Coordinate with campus units—such as Financial Aid, International Student Services, Admissions, Registrar, and Housing—to streamline processes and support student needs.

  • Communicate with partner institutions and external program providers as needed for student and program coordination.

  • Assist with special projects, events, and additional job-related tasks as assigned by the Director of Education Abroad.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience required.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

At least one year of experience with study abroad, international services, or global learning.

Salary:

$50,000 - $54,000 per year.
