Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director of Student Affairs Marketing and Communication. - Boca Raton, FL.

The Assistant Director of Student Affairs Marketing and Communication conceives, creates and coordinates all visual elements for the Division of Student Affairs Marketing and Communications office. Coordinating and developing marketing materials that fully integrate a cohesive visual approach throughout all media types using a suite of highly sophisticated software applications, the Assistant Director organizes and leads creative assignments from conception to electronic output, including comprehensive layout for publications and the Web, advertisements and advertorials, promotions and direct mail pieces, posters, logos, letterhead, web design elements and posting, social media and multimedia presentations.

Summary of responsibilities:

  • Serve as the creative director for over 25+ departments for the Division of Student Affairs.

  • Serves as liaison between Student Affairs and University Creative Services for approval requests for all divisional creative work.

  • Train incoming interns and staff on Florida Atlantic brand and editorial standards.

  • Supervise a staff of Graphic Design interns.

  • Assign all projects to team members that are submitted in the Team Dynamix ticket system from the division.

  • Meet with clients to develop an artistic approach and style to their project.

  • Keep inventory of supplies for department Toshiba printers including inks, paper, office supplies also contact Toshiba for repairs and troubleshooting.

  • Mentor interns and graduating students in the graphic design field, giving professional advice and critiques.

  • Facilitate creative brainstorming sessions with the team for upcoming projects.

  • Manage digital marketing collateral on App Space or similar displays around campus to promote marketing campaigns.

  • Assist with Student Affairs departmental web edits when necessary.

  • May supervise professional staff such as Coordinators or Graduate Assistants.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

A master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience required.

Professional knowledge of design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Website management systems such as Campus CMS.

Salary:

$53,000 - $57,000 per year.
