Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a CREATE Program Coordinator - Boca Raton, FL.

FAU's Department of Theatre and Dance is a vibrant community of artists and scholars, that are dedicated to the collaborative exploration of the human spirit through theatre and dance. The Program Coordinator will report to the Department Chair and will join a transformative initiative addressing workforce needs in Broward County's arts sector. This part time position will manage student recruitment and selection for the CREATE program, working directly with high schools across Broward County to identify rising juniors and seniors from Promise Neighborhoods who will benefit from dual-track arts career preparation.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Student Recruitment: such as partner with appropriate counselors and administrators at high-need Broward County high schools to identify/recruit rising junior and senior students from Promise Neighborhood zip codes. Conduct targeted outreach in underserved communities to reach students who may lack awareness of arts career opportunities. Verify eligibility and coordinate application processes for two cohorts of 25 students each; Maintain detailed tracking of recruitment efforts and demographic data.

  • Program Implementation Support: such as coordinating summer intensives, workshops and site visits for students. Facilitate connections with regional arts organizations. Support dual track programming. Assist with transportation coordination and stipend distribution.

  • Family and Community Engagement: such as coordinate FAU resources to create family engagement sessions on financial aid, college navigation, and alternative pathways with FAU. Collaborate with community partners to expand program reach. Maintain relationships with arts organizations and potential mentors. Assist with program events and recognition activities.

  • Data Management and Reporting: such as maintain comprehensive student records and program documentation. Track progress toward 80% completion rate and other outcome metrics. Support grant reporting requirements (June 2026 and September 2027). Coordinate donor recognition per grant requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field and three (3) years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

Must be able to pass a level 2 background check for student interaction.

Minimum 3-5 years of experience navigating the Broward County Schools system for contacts and student connections.

Deep knowledge of Broward County high schools, particularly those serving high-need communities.

Understanding of Promise Neighborhoods geography and demographics.

Experience with college and career readiness programming.

Strong relationship-building skills with school personnel and community organizations.

Excellent communication skills for working with diverse student and family populations.

Proficiency with databases and student tracking systems.

Experience with grant-funded workforce development programs.

Background in arts education or creative industries.

Knowledge of dual-enrollment, career pathways, and alternative credentialing options.

Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish preferred).

Established network within Broward County educational community.

Experience with family engagement and community outreach.

Salary:

$35,000 - $40,000 per year.
