Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Senior Financial Aid Officer - Jupiter, FL.
The Senior Financial Aid Officer recommends and implements policies and procedures for assigned programs, investigates previous awards received by an applicant and assigns/adjusts an award according to eligibility limits and availability of funds, and compiles reports regarding the administration of federal, state, and university funds.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Serve as a central point of contact for all departments within Student Services One Stop Shop, which includes answering questions, providing phone coverage, and routing calls for the FAU Financial Aid Call Center.
Manage live chat responses during business hours, directing calls to staff, greeting visitors, and distributing information regarding FAU, especially on the Jupiter campus, classes, and services.
Distributes and processes the appropriate forms to students, staff, and faculty, and ensures that forms received from students have been completed appropriately so that student records are accurately maintained.
Provide status information for student services to students utilizing the FAU computer system, including, but not limited to, the collection of required documentation & appropriate follow-up, data entry, notification to students concerning additional required documentation or missing information on documents, monitor status of students, establish and maintain student information as directed by an Student Services department or designee and compliance with FERPA.
Communicate University, state, and federal regulations to students, when necessary, to assist in their understanding of such policy; and, when appropriate, provide information for academic petitions or refunds in accordance with established University and state policy and federal regulations.
