Position Summary:
The Department of Finance in the College of Business at Florida Atlantic University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Finance, beginning Fall 2026.
Responsibilities:
Teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including MBA, MSF, and PhD programs, as well as executive programs.
Maintain an active program of research and publications appropriate for maintaining AACSB Scholarly Academic qualifications at an R1 institution, as classified by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.
Participate in appropriate service to the department, college, university, community, and profession.
Emphasis will be placed on producing scholarly research in top-tier, peer-reviewed finance journals.
The College is highly supportive of research and provides access to a wide range of databases via WRDS, including Audit Analytics, BoardEx, Compustat, CRSP, Execucomp, IBES, OTC Markets, Thomson/Refinitiv. The department offers both a BBA and a BS in Finance at the undergraduate level, along with required courses and electives in the MBA program, an MSF program through our Market Rate programs, and an active Ph.D. program. Faculty also participate in the Executive Ph.D. program by teaching both the required finance courses and supervising dissertations. The department has over 700 students in the BBA and BS program, approximately 40 MBA and MSF students (each), and 15 doctoral students. The department’s active doctoral program typically provides faculty access to doctoral student research assistants.

Minimum Qualifications:
• An earned doctorate in finance or closely related field from a university with AACSB or similar business accreditation, conferred by the effective date of employment.• Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching as instructor of record at an accredited (AACSB or similar) university.
• Strong quantitative skills (Python, R, SAS, Stata, or similar) and expertise in current empirical finance methods and databases used in finance research.
• Certification or experience in online teaching is preferred.
• Candidates with demonstrable evidence of scholarship beyond the dissertation are preferred.
• Candidates with research and teaching interests from all areas of finance are welcome to apply, including, but not limited to, asset pricing, corporate finance, financial institutions & markets, investments, and international finance.

Transcripts must be issued to Florida Atlantic University, not to the individual applicant.
