Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Accounting Specialist – Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities includes:
- Prepare month-end journal entries within the established timeframe.
- Support the revenue generation cycle by processing student and client invoices and deposits.
- Process the billing and collection for third-party student accounts.
- Provide analysis of accounts receivable and prepare reports for university stakeholders.
- Participate in cost accounting functions and other related duties for the university.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies and issues of non-compliance.
- Identify and contribute to improvements in automated accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Provide student customer service by responding to inquiries and supporting the FAU community in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform other accounting duties and support accounting staff as required or assigned.
- Promote and maintain a positive and welcoming environment for colleagues, students, and visitors.
- Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience; or a high school diploma and five years of appropriate experience required. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Knowledge and experience in general ledger, cost accounting, accounting systems, and financial analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
