Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Business Analyst – Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities includes:
Works closely with the Value Management Office (VMO) Associate Director, Project Managers, and Product Owners to assist with defining, promoting, and executing project management and agile practices across the organization.
Works with a defined team to ensure work is prioritized and completed on time.
Interfaces between the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and university functional areas.
Defines, refines, and follows established Product Owner and Business Analyst practices.
Assists with testing for deployments or the coordination of testing.
Works independently on mission-critical, complex, university-level, cross-unit/division projects.
Works with various products and services, learning their functionality and often providing light administration as needed.
Monitors ticket queue and maintains stakeholders engaged and current on requests, including expectation for completion. Manages changes in priorities, scope, and requirements.
Investigates and resolves support tickets for production issues when tickets are escalated.
Translates functional area needs and requests into technical requirements for developers.
Engages stakeholders to fully understand business needs and breakdown requirements into user stories for Sprints or Kanban assignments.
Leads interactions with functional leaders, end users, vendors, management, and developers with the purpose of gaining a shared understanding of requirements, expectations, and the status of projects.
Facilitates meetings, presentations, demos, and progress updates.
Documents and maintains functional and non-functional requirements, workflows, data flow diagrams, and creates user stories for developers.
Articulates issues, questions, and recommendations to stakeholders, team members, and leadership.
Analyzes requests to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, automation, and increased efficiency.
Works with project managers and other members of the Value Management Office (VMO) to conduct requirements gathering, scope of work definition, risk analysis, and documentation for projects.
Assists with agile ceremonies such as daily standups, retrospectives, sprint planning, etc.
Works with multiple functional areas’ business processes and their data.
Supervises, coordinates, prioritizes, and reviews the work of others.
Works with agile work tools such as Azure Dev/Ops, Jira, etc.
Works with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Team Dynamix, Confluence, Meisterplan, Smartsheets, etc.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and one year of appropriate experience.Salary:
