EA Talent Solutions has been engaged by our client to identify a Controller to own the accounting and finance function of a growing, entrepreneurial organization. This is a fully remote opportunity open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. This is a hands-on role best suited for someone who is comfortable being the go-to financial resource within a smaller company environment, working closely with leadership and is not afraid to roll up their sleeves.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day accounting function including month-end close, financial reporting, and general ledger management
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors
  • Partner directly with the leadership team to provide financial insights and support key business decisions
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections
  • Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures appropriate for a growing organization
  • Monitor cash flow and oversee banking and treasury activities
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax and regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and implement efficiencies across the finance function
  • Support ad-hoc projects and analysis as directed by leadership


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with demonstrated experience in a Controller or senior accounting role
  • Prior experience in a small to mid-sized company environment where wearing multiple hats is the norm
  • Background in professional services such as consulting, public accounting, staffing, or advisory strongly preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Comfortable working independently, taking ownership, and operating with minimal oversight
  • A natural collaborator who can communicate financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms a plus


This role offers a base salary of $125,000 to $150,000, commensurate with experience.
