Parks Superintendent
City of Riviera Beach
This position is responsible for the management of the Parks Division for the Parks & Recreation Department which includes supervisory and administrative duties to plan, coordinate, and supervise support staff and resources that are responsible for maintenance of City Parks, Recreation Facilities, Beach and Recreational Buildings. Duties also include daily operations, including trash collection, landscaped maintenance, building repairs, equipment repairs, and custodial duties. Work also includes the supervision of athletic field renovations and construction projects for the Parks & Recreation Department.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires an Associate's Degree or specialized courses/training equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college business administration, recreation/physical education, leisure services or related field.
Requires four years' experience in the planning and implementation of recreation, fitness and parks programs, athletics, and supervision and evaluation of staff and facilities, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Special Certifications and Licenses:
Valid Florida State Driver's License or ability to obtain one at the time of hire
Preferred CDL, or ability to obtain one
Preferred knowledge of Irrigation Systems or Irrigation Technology
Preferred license for Public Pest Control and Public Applicator through the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services or the ability to obtain
Preferred Certified Playground Safety Inspector Certification or ability to obtain
