Quantum Community Coordinator
Administration · Full-time, Contractor
West Palm Beach, FL, USA
USD up to 90k / year
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Business Development Board Foundation of Palm Beach County is hiring a full-time contract Quantum Community Coordinator to manage day-to-day implementation of the regional quantum technology initiative. The coordinator is the connective tissue between the institutions, companies, and public agencies building Palm Beach County’s quantum ecosystem, and serves as the primary point of contact for participating partners.
This is a coordination and communications role, not a technical one. You do not need a background in quantum technology. You need to be the person who runs the calendar, follows up without being asked, and makes sure nothing falls between organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Coordinate stakeholders across education, workforce development, and industry engagement efforts
• Plan and staff programs, working group meetings, site visits, and convenings from logistics through follow-up
• Manage scheduling across multiple institutions and executive calendars
• Maintain relationships with universities, colleges, K-12 partners, employers, and state and federal agencies
• Track grant compliance requirements, reporting deadlines, and deliverable timelines
• Prepare progress reports, correspondence, and briefing materials for BDB leadership and funding partners
• Support public communications for the initiative, including social content and event promotion
• Track regional progress toward commercialization readiness and support alignment with state and federal priorities
• Serve as first point of contact for inbound inquiries from businesses and institutions
QUALIFICATIONS
• Self-managing. This role reports into a small team and operates with limited supervision. You set your own priorities and hit your own deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including correspondence and reports for executive, academic, and government audiences
• Demonstrated experience coordinating events, meetings, and programs with multiple external parties
• Skilled at scheduling across organizations and calendars
• Three or more years in program coordination, event management, economic development, grant administration, or a comparable operational role
• Comfortable working across sectors, including academia, industry, and government
• Strong social media skills are a bonus. The initiative benefits from consistent public visibility, and comfort drafting and posting on LinkedIn and similar channels is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
No quantum technology background is required. Subject matter familiarity will develop on the job.
TERMS
Independent contractor engagement, twelve months beginning October 1, 2026. Total compensation $90,000. Full-time commitment. Based in Palm Beach County with regular travel within the region and occasional travel in state. Renewal is possible subject to program funding and performance.
