About The Role:

The Consultant will focus exclusively on leading or supporting client projects. They will not have direct sales responsibilities, but they may be expected to support sales activities on occasion when an opportunity is identified by the SNS sales or service organizations, or a lead comes directly to herronpalmer from the market.

When assigned to a client engagement, the Consultant will generally serve as either the day-to-day project manager or an expert individual contributor, reporting to a senior project manager or engagement leader for purposes of the project.

Responsibilities will vary by project, but will typically include: project management; requirements definition; system solutions; process solutions testing support; training support; transition preparation and execution; document preparation; data analysis and assimilation; meeting facilitation; and client/service provider communication.

Core Responsibilities:

Client Engagement Responsibilities

  • When assigned as the day-to-day project manager:
    • Lead implementation and/or relationship audit and remediation projects coordinating with the Implementation Practice Leader and/or others as necessary
    • Ensure alignment on scope of services with provider project team
    • Manage formal project communication/interaction with service provider and client
    • Oversee project plan and timeline and hold parties accountable to ensure successful transition and/or audit completion
    • Facilitate client discussions (meetings or calls) related to benefits and data requirements, internal status meetings and deliverables, transition agreement review with outgoing service provider and discussions with the incoming provider
    • Provide benefits administration “best practice” recommendations throughout the implementation
    • Review and provide feedback on requirements and process related documents
    • Conduct data analysis (conversion data, employment data issues, 3rd parties, etc.)
    • Review/provide feedback on provider overall testing strategy and align with client expectations, assist with preparation of test plans, and actively participate in client acceptance testing
    • Assist with events in transition design, strategy, and execution, including coordination with third-party carriers, payroll and other impacted providers
    • Interact with client representatives from HRIT, payroll, legal, data security and privacy, communications and other HR/Benefits functions to achieve project objectives
  • Travel to the client site with the project team as needed - may include (occasional) international travel

New Business Development Responsibilities

  • Support new business opportunities identified by the Pacific Resources sales and service organizations and those that come directly to herronpalmer
  • While representing the client’s objectives first and foremost, promote a collaborative working relationship with services providers which results in a positive reputation for herronpalmer and a strong pipeline of referrals to prospective clients
  • Communicate to the Managing Director and Leadership Team on the status of new business opportunities

General Responsibilities

  • Support internal efforts to increase the efficiency of the services we provide
  • On a daily basis, keep detailed and accurate tracking of time spent on various tasks, especially client-billable work, using the timekeeping system provided
  • Communicate to the Managing Director and Leadership Team on the status of existing projects and budgets

Personal Development

  • Keep up to date on and engaged with the advisory and benefits industry by taking advantage of herronpalmer provided training, actively seeking expert advice from industry leaders, participating in meetings with service providers and attending approved industry events.

Skills Required:

· 10+ years of business experience overall

· 5+ years of experience employed by an industry-relevant administration outsourcing firm in an implementation role

· Demonstrated implementation experience in at least one primary benefit domain (pension, 401(k) or H&W)

· Strong knowledge of benefit program design in at least one primary benefit domain (pension, 401(k) or H&W)

· Deep expertise with administration best practices and systems in at least one primary benefit domain (pension, 401(k) or H&W)

· Proficient in MS Office Suite developing documents for internal and client-ready consumption

· Ability to work independently in a virtual work environment and achieve significant results

· Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and presentation skills

Preferred

· Additional experience in the areas of solution development, ongoing client service delivery and/or sales/RFP support

Pay Range

130000 - 150000 Annual

The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
