Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Associate of Accounting & Advisory Services, to work in our Managed Solutions & Technology Group who is passionate about leveraging technology to enhance financial operations and deliver innovative solutions to clients. In this role, you will work closely with clients and internal engagement teams to support the implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of accounting and financial technology platforms.
The MST Senior Associate will play a key role in analyzing client processes, identifying opportunities for system improvements, and helping implement scalable technology solutions that improve efficiency, reporting accuracy, and operational performance. This position also involves mentoring junior team members and contributing to the successful delivery of client engagements within a dynamic professional services environment.
Industry Experience
The MST Senior Associate will operate in a fast-paced consulting environment where accounting expertise and technology solutions interact. This role requires a strong understanding of financial systems, data management, and operational workflows in order to help clients modernize their accounting processes.
Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, financial reporting tools, and accounting platforms is highly valuable in delivering effective technology-driven solutions that align with business and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Support and lead portions of client engagements related to financial system implementations, accounting technology optimization, and managed accounting solutions.
• Analyze client accounting processes and workflows to identify opportunities for automation, efficiency improvements, and technology enhancements.
• Assist with the configuration, implementation, and support of accounting systems and ERP platforms.
• Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing operational support for financial software applications.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, workflows, and client procedures.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to gather business requirements and translate them into practical system solutions.
• Assist in the development of financial dashboards, reporting tools, and analytics solutions that provide clients with actionable business insights.
• Review work performed by associates and provide guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members.
• Communicate regularly with engagement teams and clients to ensure projects remain on schedule and deliverables meet quality standards.
• Stay current on emerging accounting technologies, automation tools, and industry best practices to support continuous improvement in service delivery.
Skills and Qualifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret financial data and system outputs.
• Solid understanding of accounting processes, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience working with accounting software or ERP platforms such as NetSuite, Sage, QuickBooks, or similar financial systems.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, client-focused consulting environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Interest in technology-enabled accounting solutions, automation, and financial data analytics.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Information Systems, Finance, Business Analytics, or a related field is required.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in accounting, consulting, financial systems support, or technology implementation.
• Experience working with ERP systems, financial reporting tools, or data analytics platforms is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or relevant technology certifications are a plus but not required.
