Position Overview
The Manager of Assurance & Advisory Services is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of assurance engagements while ensuring the delivery of high-quality client service. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership, and project management skills to oversee engagements from planning through completion.
The Manager plays a key role in developing and mentoring team members, maintaining strong client relationships, and ensuring engagements are performed in accordance with professional standards. This individual works closely with Partners and firm leadership to manage client engagements, provide technical guidance, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm’s Assurance & Advisory practice.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement & Technical Responsibilities
Manage and oversee assurance engagements from planning through completion, ensuring work is performed in accordance with U.S. GAAP and GAAS.
Provide assurance services including financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and agreed-upon procedures.
Review audit workpapers, financial statements, and related disclosures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with professional standards.
Apply advanced accounting and auditing knowledge to complex client situations.
Identify key internal controls and evaluate their design and operating effectiveness.
Assess risk areas and determine the nature, timing, and extent of audit procedures.
Identify internal control deficiencies and communicate findings to client management through management letter comments and recommendations.
Prepare and review financial statements and footnote disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
Develop recommendations to improve clients’ financial reporting processes, internal controls, and operational efficiency.
Client Relationship Management
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the engagement lifecycle.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships and ensure a high level of client satisfaction.
Gain a deep understanding of clients’ businesses, operations, and industry trends.
Communicate engagement status, issues, and recommendations effectively with Partners and firm leadership.
Leadership & Team Development
Supervise, mentor, and develop Seniors and Staff, providing coaching and performance feedback.
Foster a collaborative, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining engagement quality and efficiency.
Participate in the recruitment, training, and professional development of assurance professionals.
Assist in delivering internal training and continuing education programs.
Engagement & Practice Management
Manage engagement budgets, timelines, and staffing to ensure efficient and profitable engagements.
Coordinate engagement logistics, including scheduling team members and monitoring workflow.
Ensure quality control standards and firm policies are consistently followed.
Utilize audit technologies and data analytics tools to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
Business Development
Identify opportunities to expand services within existing client relationships.
Assist Partners with business development initiatives and proposal preparation.
Participate in networking and professional activities that support the growth of the Assurance & Advisory practice.
Minimum Qualifications
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) – Required
5–10 years of audit/assurance experience in public accounting
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and GAAS
Experience managing multiple engagements and client relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
