As a Managing Director in Wealth Tax & Private Client Services, you will serve as a senior leader responsible for shaping the firm’s trusts and estates practice. This role focuses on advising ultra-high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational families, and family offices on complex estate, fiduciary, and wealth transfer matters while driving practice growth and talent development.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a trusted advisor to high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on sophisticated trust, estate, gift, and GST tax matters.
Lead the development and execution of advanced wealth transfer, charitable, and succession planning strategies.
Oversee complex fiduciary income tax, estate tax, and gift tax engagements, ensuring excellence in service delivery and risk management.
Drive growth of the Wealth Tax and Trusts & Estates practice through client origination, cross-selling, and collaboration across Baker Tilly’s national platform.
Maintain and expand relationships with attorneys, trustees, investment advisors, and family office professionals.
Provide executive leadership and mentorship to Senior Managers, Managers, and staff; play a key role in recruiting and retaining top talent.
Represent the firm through thought leadership, speaking engagements, and participation in professional organizations focused on private wealth and estate planning.
Stay at the forefront of legislative and regulatory developments impacting trusts and estates and proactively guide clients and teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required. JD or LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred.
Minimum of ten (10)+ years of experience in trust and estate taxation and private client services.
Deep expertise in fiduciary taxation, estate and gift tax planning, charitable planning, and wealth preservation strategies.
Proven success in client relationship management, practice growth, and leadership.
Strong executive presence, communication skills, and strategic mindset.
