Job Summary:

The Financial Systems BI Planning Manager is responsible for designing and implementing robust system standards & processes for the OneStream Planning system that supports the organization’s budgeting and forecasting processes.

The Manager is responsible for managing the availability and reliability of the OneStream Planning System from a business perspective.

This role leads and participates in the design, evaluation, testing, and implementation of applications, reports, and dashboards.
This position is responsible for being the primary contact regarding the company’s planning system, from system configuration processes to sophisticated planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting that is actively used by the organization.

In this role, the manager has strong communication skills and must interact regularly and comfortably across various departments, speaking in business acumen with the business field with the ability to effectively translate to technical acumen with IT teams and cross functional Management teams.

The manager has leadership qualities of mentoring, growing and motivating financial system professionals, along with taking responsibility and accountability of accomplishing team goals.

The manager is responsible for the development of an effective system planning process for OneStream Planning system updates to stay code compliant, which includes the creation of an integrated project schedule with cross member teams. This role involves executing tasks in accordance with established plans, as well as continuously updating and adjusting those plans to accommodate changing business-related circumstances.

The manager is responsible for making timely, effective decisions and effectively communicating those decisions both up and down the support, project & management structures.

Job Duties:

• Demonstrates an understanding of business process workflows and how financial applications are used in support of those processes
• Manages the budget account drivers with understanding of the underlying calculation, formula passes and Budget impacts
• Takes responsibility for the annual Principal planning cycles and leading the design, testing, implementation and support
• Facilitates a critical communications role by interacting with users, project team members and development personnel and various management levels across the organization
• Proficiently facilitates business process requirement sessions using techniques to help define scope and requirements to continually improve and automate planning processes
• Determines, understands, and selects the appropriate method to document business processes and project scope
• Assesses overall impact of change requests related to business requirements. Managing updates, enhancements, integrations and testing for the system
• Ensures change control and change management procedures are followed within the project team as they relate to requirements
• Investigates and resolves complex issues by contacting appropriate internal/external resources to analyze and develop solutions to issues or inquiries
• Provides leadership, management, and coordination of all activities pertaining to project direction, goal setting, planning, estimating, resource allocation, and assignments for non PMO projects
• Participates and manages planning system updates, enhancements, integrations, testing, and ensuring proper system change management protocols are compliant with audit controls
• Proactively collaborates and strategizes with IT, financial systems, and business teams to drive system efficiencies across the business.
• Takes responsibility for financial data systems security procedures, maintaining and responding to security inquires
• Promptly engages with Senior Management or Internal Audit to clarify security requests
• Participates in internal audit of financial system procedures; presents audit with evidence of executed system processes and reports (in a clear, accurate and concise manner) that is in compliance of defined controls
• Participates in preparing project budgets, project staffing plans, and recommendations
• Actively leads and participates in driving an effective data stewardess environment across functional business owners through data integrity, efficient & accurate configurations, and data validation
• When available to BDO, acts as an active participant on Vendor/Customer Advisory Boards
• Implements and leads an effective project change management process that pro-actively identifies project changes and incorporates an appropriate impact analysis and approval for such changes
• Assists with the creation and preparation of the annual financial system budget
• Manages, troubleshoots, and resolves OneStream support tickets, including;
• Cubeview support with design, data adapters, and parameters
• Quickview support functionality with ability to create new as needed
• XFset data support with creation and loading into OneStream
• Data management support, creation/maintenance of data management jobs, planning system seeding, allocations and data/scenario copying
• Other duties as required


Supervisory Responsibilities:
• Monitors and provides performance feedback of Financial Systems Analysts professionals throughout the performance year
• Ensures Financial Systems Analyst professionals are effectively trained on systems and processes related to the Finance Department
• Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews for Financial Systems Analyst professionals
• Assists Financial Systems Analyst professionals with prioritization of workload, communications, etc. and delegates work assignments to Financial Systems Analyst professionals, as appropriate
• Oversees, coaches, and mentors System Analysts and workstream business owners on development of test scripts, policies and procedures
• Proactively leads and mentors the growth of collaborating and strategizing with IT, financial systems, and business teams to drive system efficiencies across the business
• Coordinates, assembles, and trains team members on process to conform to general audit controls on system projects, system operations, documentation, process improvements, new implementations, fixes and updates

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education
• Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) or more years of experience working with financial systems, required; or High School Diploma or equivalent and eleven (11) or more years of experience working with financial systems, required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Information Technology, preferred
• Master's degree, preferred

Experience
• Experience working within a professional services firm such as accounting, financial services, business advisory and/or banking industries, preferred
• Supervisory experience, preferred

License(s)/Certification(s)

Software
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required
• Proficient in the use of Business Intelligence Reporting Tools (i.e. OneStream, Hyperion, PowerBi, FDI/FAW), preferred

Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.


National Range: $120,000 - $130,000
Maryland Range: $120,000 - $130,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $120,000 - $130,000
