Co-General Manager / Resort Manager
Position Summary
The Co-General Manager (Resort Manager) serves as a key executive leader and strategic partner to the General Manager, responsible for driving both operational excellence and commercial performance across the resort.
This role provides leadership and accountability for resort operations, guest experience, financial performance, sales effectiveness, and organizational culture. The successful candidate will combine strong operational expertise with a demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, build high-performing teams, and create accountability for business results across all departments.
As the operational leader of the property, the Co-General Manager will oversee daily resort functions while partnering closely with department leaders to maximize profitability, elevate guest satisfaction, strengthen employee engagement, and ensure alignment with Amrit's luxury wellness brand and mission.
The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial hospitality executive who thinks like an owner, leads through influence and accountability, and understands how to create exceptional experiences that drive both guest loyalty and long-term financial success.
This is not solely an operations role. The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to drive revenue growth, lead commercial performance discussions, hold teams accountable to business objectives, and think like an owner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Support the General Manager in directing and coordinating all day-to-day resort operations.
- Provide executive leadership oversight to Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Security, Spa Operations, and other operational departments.
- Ensure consistent delivery of luxury service standards and exceptional guest satisfaction.
- Promote and integrate Amrit's holistic wellness philosophy into operational practices and guest experiences.
- Lead, coach, mentor, and evaluate department heads to ensure operational excellence, employee engagement, and succession planning.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to processes, systems, and service delivery.
- Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration throughout the organization.
Commercial Leadership and Revenue Growth
- Provide strategic leadership, accountability, and direction to the Sales and Marketing teams.
- Partner with sales leadership to establish and achieve revenue goals across rooms, spa, wellness services, memberships, food and beverage, events, retreats, and ancillary revenue streams.
- Develop and execute initiatives that drive topline revenue growth while maintaining Amrit's luxury positioning and guest experience standards.
- Lead weekly commercial performance reviews focused on sales activity, lead generation, conversion metrics, forecasting, business pace, and revenue opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, competitive positioning, demand patterns, and business mix to identify opportunities for growth.
- Foster a culture where all departments understand and contribute to revenue generation, guest retention, and profitability.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Spa, Wellness, and Food & Beverage leadership to maximize cross-selling, upselling, and guest lifetime value.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships, memberships, corporate wellness opportunities, group business, and community relationships that enhance revenue performance.
- Evaluate business performance metrics and implement corrective action plans when revenue objectives are at risk.
Financial Management
- Develop and implement strategies to improve profitability, labor productivity, cost controls, and resource utilization.
- Monitor operating expenses and departmental performance to ensure achievement of budgeted financial targets.
- Partner with Finance and executive leadership to develop budgets, forecasts, and capital planning initiatives.
- Analyze key financial and operational metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Maintain accountability for departmental performance and financial outcomes across the resort.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies while preserving service quality and guest satisfaction.
Leadership and Culture
- Build and develop a high-performance leadership team aligned with Amrit's culture and values.
- Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and accountability measures for department leaders.
- Promote a collaborative, guest-centric, and results-oriented work environment.
- Lead organizational initiatives related to employee development, engagement, recognition, and retention.
- Serve as a visible and approachable leader for guests, team members, residents, ownership, and community stakeholders.
- Support a culture of wellness, personal growth, and exceptional service throughout the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in luxury hospitality, resort, hotel, or destination operations.
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-departmental resort operations with accountability for guest experience, employee engagement, and financial performance.
- Proven success driving measurable revenue growth through leadership, strategic planning, accountability, and team performance management.
- Experience leading or partnering closely with Sales and Marketing teams to achieve revenue and business development objectives.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, labor productivity, profitability, and performance metrics.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze business trends and convert insights into revenue-generating strategies.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems, prioritize effectively, and make sound business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in luxury wellness resorts, destination resorts, lifestyle hospitality, or integrated hospitality environments.
- Experience overseeing multiple revenue streams including accommodations, spa, wellness services, memberships, events, food and beverage, and ancillary business units.
- Experience presenting business performance and strategic initiatives to ownership groups, boards, or executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
