Position Summary
The Kitchen Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, and dishes. This role ensures our culinary team operates efficiently in a safe, pristine, and well-organized environment. The ideal candidate is reliable, hardworking, and committed to supporting a luxury hospitality experience.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards for all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, equipment, and storage areas.
Wash, sanitize, and properly store all kitchen utensils, cookware, and tableware.
Operate dishwashing equipment safely and efficiently, monitor machine cleanliness and functionality.
Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic cleaning and organization tasks as needed.
Ensure trash, recycling, and compost are properly sorted and removed according to sustainability guidelines.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors of shortages.
Follow all safety and hygiene procedures, including proper chemical handling and use of PPE.
Support kitchen setup and breakdown for service periods, banquets, and special events.
Adhere to Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences’ quality, service, and wellness standards.
Qualifications
Required:
Previous experience in a stewarding or kitchen support role preferred but not required.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand or walk for extended periods.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Commitment to cleanliness, organization, and safety.
Preferred:
Experience in luxury hotels, resorts, or high-volume dining environments.
Knowledge of sanitation regulations and HACCP guidelines.
Schedule & Work Environment
Flexible schedule required, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Work environment includes exposure to heat, humidity, cleaning chemicals, and kitchen equipment.
