Position Summary
The Executive Sous Chef at Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences is a key leader within the Culinary Department, supporting the Executive Chef in delivering world-class, wellness-driven dining experiences across all restaurants, bars, in-residence dining, banquets, and special events. This leader ensures culinary excellence, operational efficiency, and an elevated guest experience that reflects the resort’s commitment to mindful living, global flavors, and exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
Culinary Leadership & Operations
Support the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations across all outlets, ensuring excellence in food quality, presentation, consistency, and timeliness.
Oversee culinary production for restaurants, lounge venues, banquets, catering, and in-residence dining.
Lead and inspire a diverse culinary team by modeling professionalism, creativity, and adherence to brand and wellness standards.
Assist in menu development incorporating seasonal ingredients, global culinary trends, and Amrit’s wellness-centered philosophy.
Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen organization in compliance with local health regulations and brand protocols.
Team Management & Training
Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate culinary staff to foster growth, performance, and teamwork.
Participate in hiring, onboarding, coaching, and ongoing development of kitchen team members.
Ensure clear communication between culinary, service, and management teams.
Uphold a positive, respectful, and safety-focused workplace culture.
Financial & Administrative Duties
Assist with inventory controls, cost management, and ordering to maintain profitability without compromising quality.
Support budget planning, cost-of-goods analysis (COGS), and labor forecasting.
Monitor portion control, recipe adherence, and waste reduction programs.
Guest Experience & Quality Control
Ensure all dishes meet Amrit Ocean Resort & Residences’ standards of taste, presentation, and nutritional mindfulness.
Engage with guests when needed to address dietary restrictions, ingredient questions, or culinary feedback.
Elevate consistency across all meal periods and service outlets.
Special Events & Culinary Programming
Partner with the Executive Chef and Events/Wellness teams to create bespoke menus for retreats, weddings, corporate events, and experiential dining programs.
Support culinary activations, chef collaborations, and wellness-focused dining initiatives aligned with the resort’s brand pillars.
