Post Closer assists with mortgage loan closing process by reviewing loan documents for compliance, completeness and accuracy. Post Closer will managing loan documents by following up on loan packages or missing information. Post Closer will upload loan packages and information to various investors and provide any suspense items to the investor resulting in investor purchase of the loan. Post Closer will insure loans.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely and independent loan file auditing when files are received in the Post Closing Department;
  • Review signed settlement documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with closing instructions;
  • Review initial disclosures and credit package for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Ship files via electronic upload/overnight delivery to secondary market investors mortgage insurance companies, and cure any post-closing issues that may arise.
  • Compile files in accordance with investor requirements.
  • Follow up with operations staff and settlement agents on missing documentation;
  • Update loan origination system and accounting system with any additional documentation or information;
  • Field customer calls regarding post-closing issues or first payment questions;
  • Maintain excellent customer relations and the confidentiality of the customers personal information;
  • Remit payment for mortgage insurance premiums;
  • Submit loans for insuring both the government agencies and private mortgage insurers;
  • Remain current on and adhere to all regulatory required training;
  • Attend various mortgage courses or other general banking courses as required;
  • Ensure preventive measures are carried out to fully comply with current rules, regulations and internal policies relating to risks pertaining to BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and other AML related issues
  • Other duties as required (e.g. working overtime when necessary)

Minimum Education and/or Certifications Requirements:

Associate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

One or two years of experience in the residential mortgage industry desired.

Technical and/or Other Essential Knowledge:

Excellent communication skills, ability to work in a group environment.
