Responsibilities

The Clinical Educator for Surgical Services will be responsible and accountable for the planning, organizing, and evaluation of orientation for new employees and ongoing education for all employees of the Surgical Services and Procedural Areas. Assists with planning, organization, and coordination of all operational activities within the departments. Provides input for hiring, evaluating, and termination process of employees. Involved in policy and procedure development, compliance with OSHA/TJC/AOA/DOH regulations, compliance with hospital rules and regulations, and implements the Performance Improvement process. Performs the functions of a scrub nurse, circulating nurse, and/or holding room nurse as needed. Must be knowledgeable of AORN standards.


Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of Florida
  • Current American Heart Association BLS Certification
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS Certification
  • Current American Heart Association PALS Certification
  • Previous OR experience (minimum 5 years), educator experience preferred
  • BSN required
  • CNOR preferred
  • Intermediate computer skills, Microsoft office, Power Point. (Excel preferred)
  • AORN member

Alan B. Miller Medical Center opening in Spring 2026!

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics, Surgical Services, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.
